Need Revival?
First, the place to begin for revival is to please God. To receive Jesus as our personal Savior pleases God. The angels in Heaven rejoice whenever someone is born again. “… Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:10).”
Second, we please God through faith. In Hebrews 11:6 we are told, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Third, we please God by growing in wisdom. In Luke 2:52 the Bible says, “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.”
We are told in Proverbs 9:10, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom….”
We should seek the wisdom that comes from God. In James 3:17, “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.”
James also tells us in 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
Fourth, we can please God by walking in righteousness. In 1 Thessalonians 4:1 we are told, “Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God.”
Also, in John 14:21, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
Fifth, we can please God by praising Him. The Psalmist says in Psalm 69:30-31, “I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving. This also shall please the Lord better than an ox or bull,
which has horns and hooves.”
