Daily Power

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. – Philippians 4:13 NKJV.

He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. – Isaiah 40:29 NKJV.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. – 2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV.

I noticed something new hanging on the wall in my parent’s living room while they were still living. It was a small poster which said in bright letters, “God Hath Power To Help.” It looked like it was quite old and so I asked my mother where it had come from. She said it had been my grandmother’s.

Seeing that poster has made me realize that my grandparents must have faced challenges beyond their own strength just as I have. Whenever I see that poster now it brings a warm feeling to me to know that my grandparents relied, just as I do, upon the power of God.

It is God’s will for us to have the power to meet the challenges of life and every day we face those challenges. Jesus says in Luke 9:23, “Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”

We are to take up our cross daily and follow our Lord, but we cannot do that in our own strength. We need His power, His strength and when He gives it to us, we will not only meet the challenges of the day but conquer them! The apostle Paul says in Romans 8:37, “…in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Now that is super empowerment when we consider that God is the Creator of everything and the sustainer of all life. What is there that is too tough for God? Nothing!

Each morning when we awake there stretches before us a new day that God has made. Every day there will be many challenges, dangers, and toils that await. Some of us will possibly face unexpected financial problems, unexpected health problems, unexpected family problems, unexpected job problems, and many other unexpected situations during our day.

Whatever it is, God still Hath Power To Help!
