Under Suspicion of Being a Dinosaur

You renew Your witnesses against me,
And increase Your indignation toward me;
Changes and war are ever with me.

‘Why then have You brought me out of the womb?
Oh, that I had perished and no eye had seen me! – Job 10:17 NKJV

Daniel praises God for the answer to the mystery that he had been praying about and said,

Blessed be the name of God, forever and ever.
He knows all, does all:

He changes the seasons and guides history. – Daniel 2:21 NKJV.

How would you feel about being cited by the Sheriff’s Office for being Under Suspicion of Being a Dinosaur”? The Onslow County North Carolina Sheriff’s Office said Pepe was detained for being a “Prehistoric Perp.” He was “caught loitering near the double yellow line on Old 30 Road.” Sounds like some serious charges! For the 400-pound 10 ft long alligator it meant being permanently exiled from Onslow County.

No doubt I feel like a Prehistoric Dinosaur sometimes. Many of us who are older are lumped into the “Boomer Generation” spanning from 1946 to 1964 of those born during that time period. Used to older people were respected for their wisdom and experience. You likely heard the phrase “respect your elders” when you were growing up. Not so much anymore on social platforms, and I suspect offline as well.

Now you hear Boomers referred to with derision as:

Generational genius.

Boomers when they read anything on media or see it on the

news networks believe it’s real.

Boomers grew up in this world and then destroyed it on purpose.

Boomers are the heaviest drinkers.

Self-righteous Boomers.

“I’ll be long gone” is the boomer attitude to everything in a nutshell

Boomers are equally the stupidest and most selfish generation to ever exist.

Radical genocidal Boomer tyranny.

Those are a few of the milder ones I found in a brief scan of the X platform. You can get the gist, and the gist is that they do not respect their elders any longer! Far from it.

Change is coming rapidly in the 21st century with the disrespect of the elderly being just one tiny part of the changes. Coping with the exponential leap in technology I think is mind-boggling for us who are older. Then think about the price of cars and houses. Our car cost far more than our first house! It is just crazy. But what can you do?

This is not a new question but a generations old question that we see Job struggling about. Job complains, “Changes and war are ever with me.” Then Job says in effect that he wishes he had never been born.

Now it is true that Job was facing more problems than most of us with having his family killed. All of his servants killed by raiders along with losing all of his livestock. On top of it all he came down with a horrific illness that caused him great suffering. His wife told him to just curse God and die. To Job’s credit he hung in there in the face of whatever was coming next and ultimately, we know he was rewarded for his faith.

We must do the same! Hang in there! There is going to be a reward for the faithful!!
