What is Truth?

Jesus says: “And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. – John 14:4-6 NKJV.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. – Hebrews 13:8 NKJV.

For I am the Lord, I do not change…. – Malachi 3:6a NKJV.

Last night I heard a shocking statement from Katherine Maher the CEO of NPR (National Public Radio). She said that “truth is malleable.” This is a lie straight from the pit of hell!

When Jesus is before Pilate, Jesus says: “For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice (John 18:37bc).” And in response Pilate says, “What is truth?”

The Jews who shouted, “Crucify” “Crucify” did not want to hear the “truth.” They chose to have Barabbas, a robber and murderer released instead of Jesus who was and is “truth” personified. The Jews on that day were filled with anger and hate.

Who are those today who are shouting “Crucify” “Crucify?” It is those who hate the “Truth!” So many times, when I post something about Jesus and how to have salvation it angers some who respond with hate denying the truth. They are just as angry, and hate filled as that day some 2000 years ago when the people demanded that Barabbas be released, and Jesus be crucified.

The intention of the enemy of our souls, that old devil, is to hide the truth, cover up the truth, and bend the truth every which way attempting to deceive all that he can. Sadly, many will be deceived and are being deceived but there will come a day when every knee shall bow at the Name of Jesus (Philippians 2:10).

Yes, Jesus went to be with the Father, but He did not leave us alone. Jesus says in John 14:17: “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”

The “Spirit of Truth” is still speaking today to the hearts and lives of every man, woman, boy and girl about their need for a Savior. Why? Because:

“all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).”

“For the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23a).”

We have all done bad things that we know were wrong to do and are deserving of spiritual death. Those wages of sin must be paid. Thank God! Jesus came down from the glories Heaven to be born into this sinful world and be tempted at all points without sin (Hebrews 4:15) to become the once for all sacrifice for our sins.

Jesus took the death penalty that we deserved but we have to receive the gift “but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23b).”

Jesus says in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Have you believed?

Jesus says in Revelation 3:20: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

Have you opened up the door of your heart through prayer and invited Jesus in?

Now that you know the Truth what will you do?
