A Letter from God

I wrote this on X (Twitter) in response to a question:
Was there anyone who had never gotten a DUI?

My drinking ended in 1975 on my knees in an Oklahoma City motel room and God took that away. I did drive home once while I was very drunk in a snow storm. That was early 1969. I slid off a road. I flagged down a Trailways bus and tried to get him to pull out my mustang. He didn’t have any chains but offered to take me to a home along the way where I could call for help. I told him to go on. Got back in the car that was in a ditch next to a farm fence. Rocked the car back and forth until I could drive out. I was pretty sober by then. Never got that drunk again and never drove again while I was drunk or high.

I know that God blessed my decision and prayer of repentance in the motel room. Just two weeks later God suddenly changed everything and I had a job with more money far better working conditions and on the ground floor with a just starting company and increasing responsibilities. It was paradise compared to what I was doing.

Commit your life to the Lord Jesus and allow Him to work miracles in your life. Read Revelation 3:20. Jesus says: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

God sent me a letter that sent me to my knees in 1975. The letter was from a woman in Denver. It was anonymous about how sin had ruined her life. Jeanie, my wife, read it to me over the phone. I immediately understood that God was speaking directly to me.

You should consider this your letter from God….
