Don’t Give Up
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. – Galatians 6:9 NKJV.
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. – Galatians 6:9 NLT.
Back in December Massiell Garay Sanchez who was 32 years old and was an anesthesiologist with two children, entered a Dollar Tree store in Miami, Florida. Her body was found the next day in the store’s freezer. Police say there is no sign of foul play. It appears that Garay Sanchez who was originally from Nicaragua simply gave up on life. Sadly, this is third instance in 2025 of a body being found dead in a freezer according to the article by Strange Days News (12.21.25).
The death of Garay is tragic for her children and other family members. What will happen to them now? Someone has set up a gofundme and maybe that will assist with burial expenses and for the care of the children. Please pray for them.
As an anesthesiologist Garay was busy with her job doing good as doctors performed surgeries. But what was it that caused her to give up? The pressures of life even for those who are trying to do the right things and live a godly life can be severe. So how can we keep from giving up from those adverse pressures of life in this new year?
To keep going this year we need to take advantage of some of the resources of God.
We definitely need the Word of God which is the sword of the Spirit. In Ephesians 6:17 we are told “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
Joshua 1:8 tells us how we can have success and have a prosperous life: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
Of course, Romans 10:17 tells us how we can have the faith to continue on: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
As I have mentioned before we also need:
Prayer (Luke 18:1).
Church (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Service (Galatians 6:9-10; 1 Corinthians 15:58).
Right Thinking (Philippians 4:8).
During this new year, before you go to a Dollar Tree and decide to climb into a freezer and say good night to life. Do this:
Pray and ask God to give you the strength to bear up under the pressures that life has put upon you. Then, find that Bible or open one up on your phone or tablet and begin reading. Continue reading until you have been given the peace of God which passeth all understanding.
God has the power and the resources to give you the strength to continue on in the face of the pressure of life. Take advantage of God’s power and resources and DON’T GIVE UP!
