No Redundancy
Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” – John 14:5-6 NKJV.
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” – Acts 4:8-12 NKJV.
Phyllis Engleson filed a federal lawsuit in Minnesota in 2001; however, it was dismissed in November 2002. Phyllis was suing the Little Falls Area Arts and Crafts Fair because of injuries she sustained from tripping over a bright orange traffic cone. There were approximately 99,999 other visitors to the arts and crafts fair that year who did not trip over a traffic cone. Judge Donovan Frank essentially found that the purpose of bright orange traffic cones is to warn of imminent risk and therefore should not require a warning of a traffic cone ahead. In other words, a sign warning of a bright orange traffic cone would be redundant.
One definition for the word redundant is: “being in excess; exceeding what is usual or natural” according to dictionary dot com. Redundancy is defined as “the provision of additional or duplicate systems, equipment.” Certainly, a warning sign warning of a warning traffic cone would be redundant. However, if there were a warning sign warning of a traffic cone there would be redundancy. Of course, as the court found that would be unnecessary, and most would think a little crazy to have to post a warning for a warning.
Spiritually, there is no backup way, no backup plan of salvation. God has provided through Jesus Christ a completely adequate way of salvation for all who receive Christ as their personal Savior. This way of salvation was bought and paid for with the blood of Jesus Christ. All who believe upon Jesus belong to Him and have been purchased (1 Corinthians 6:20) with the blood of Jesus Christ. The God approved way of salvation is completely free of cost and is a gift to those who will believe and receive Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9). Therefore, for God to provide another way of salvation would be redundant, and far more unnecessary than a warning sign for a bright orange traffic cone.
Believe it! Receive Him! Because “there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Jesus would say to you the same as He did to Thomas, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Father, thank you for sending to us the precious gift of Your only begotten Son, Christ Jesus, who demonstrated Your love by giving His life as a ransom for ours. Whose blood was shed for the remission of our sins, and who took what was meant for us, the curse upon Himself so that the blessing of Abraham could come upon us. How great is thy loving kindness?
God is good, and His mercy endures forever.
In the name of the LORD, I bless my brother, LORD; And I thank you for using him to bless us everyday, by sharing the blessing of Your truth.
