Y3K
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. – Revelation 21:8.
In the words of one newsperson, “we made it!” Y2K seems to have had little effect on the world other than the 500 billion dollars spent to prepare for it. There appears to have been no rioting in the streets or terrorist attacks. Y2K has almost been a nonevent. No planes falling from the sky, no nuclear meltdowns, and the ATMs did not spew out all of their money. We can only praise God and know that it was the restraining power of the Holy Spirit, which has kept us in relative safety through this transition to a new century.
Now all we need to prepare for is Y3K. Are you Y3K compliant? Now you may be thinking “why do I need to prepare for something that is going to happen a thousand years from now?” No, your computer will probably not make it a thousand years but you will. No, your physical body as it is now constituted will not make it a thousand years either. But your soul, your consciousness, that innermost part of you that is your emotions, your thoughts will be alive a thousand years from now. But unless you are properly prepared you could be facing a fate much worse than your computer crashing. Unless you are Y3K compliant you could end up in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 21:8b).
John 3:16 tells us if we believe on the Lord Jesus we will “not perish, but have everlasting life.” To be properly prepared we must receive Christ Jesus as our Savior. He is the only fix for the Y3K problem. Nothing short of “everlasting life” will keep your systems from crashing into the “lake of fire.” If you haven’t already done so why not prepare today? Turn from your sins and invite Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and Master.
