Stuck
But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” – Luke 18:27.
For with God nothing will be impossible. – Luke 1:37.
She was stuck in an eight-inch space without clothes upside down between two buildings. An auto body shop on one side and a car stereo store on the other side. The workers in the auto body shop could hear her screaming and finally located where she was and called the fire department for help. It took two and a half hours to cut a three foot by three-foot hole in a concrete wall to rescue the woman.
During the entire time she was calling out to the rescue workers asking for help. Thankfully, she only had minor injuries from being stuck between the walls. How did she come to be in that predicament? It was not reported whether she was intoxicated or under the influence of some kind of drug. (Reported in most of the major news venues.)
Stuck in an impossible situation. Has it ever happened to you? Stuck in a dead-end job, stuck with an impossible financial situation, stuck with an impossible health problem, stuck with…. The situations in which we human beings can find ourselves stuck in are endless. When it happens to us it seems just as impossible to get out of as being stuck upside down in an eight-inch gap between two buildings.
You can say one good thing about what the woman who was stuck and that is that she cried out for help to those who could help her. Not only did she cry out for help, she kept on calling out for help until she was rescued.
Our God is the God of the impossible and I have lost track of the many times God has gotten me out of impossible situations. Most of those situations I brought upon myself, but God still helped me. What seems hopeless to us, impossible to us, is possible for our God. In Matthew 7:7-8 we are told this “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
When life has you stuck, cry out to God for help and keep on asking for help and seeking help until help arrives. When you are freed from your predicament remember to thank God for what He has done.
