Right Place at the Right Time

For he says,

“In the time of my favor I heard you,
and in the day of salvation I helped you.”

I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation. – 2 Corinthians 6:2 NKJV.

Citrus County, Florida Sheriff’s Office and marine units were in the right place at the right time for a pilot whose plane was sinking. The pilot had landed in the water and was seen crawling out of the plane and then standing on top of the sinking plane. Deputies were able to rescue the pilot. Thankfully, they were all in the right place at the right time. (ABC News 11.12.21; Florida News Times 11.12.21; and various other news venues.)

For that pilot in Florida, it was a time of “God’s favor” with his surviving a forced landing in the ocean and with rescuers there in the right place ready to assist. Things like this simply do not “happen.” If the pilot had not already been a believer, this event should have at least made him think about God.

I messaged back and forth last night with a person who lives in San Francisco. He had just followed me, and I had just followed back on one of the social media platforms. I rarely engage in messaging like that, but believed it was important last night. I was eventually able to turn the conversation to spiritual things and found that this person is from Macao, China and that his parents are Buddhists and that he is an atheist. He eventually said that we should take a little of the best of all religions and make one. I then shared with him that there is only one religion, Christianity, through which a person can have eternal life. As Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” I gave him a link to my website and to my testimony.

Last night was a time of “God’s favor” for that man. It was no accident that I was able to share with Him about Jesus and the way of salvation. That could have been “the day of salvation” for him. I may never hear from him again, but at least He was able to receive a message of truth about God that I don’t believe he had ever heard before.

Years ago, when I was working in the oilfield, I was called out at night to go to a drilling rig location where one of our inspection units was located. When I arrived there, I was told that it was at another location where I was needed and was given complicated instructions as to how to find it. It was still in the night when I finally found it out in the middle of nowhere. But it was at the right place and the right time for one man that I was able to share Jesus with that night.

If you are ever in the right place at the right time – it is likely a divine appointment. Don’t miss it!

(What to do if you are in the right place at the right time.)
